The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially released the notification for the Junior Engineer (JE) Recruitment 2025. If you are aspiring to join prestigious Government organizations as a Junior Engineer in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical disciplines, this is your opportunity!

🔔 Important Dates

  • Start of online application: 30th June 2025

  • Last date to apply online: 21st July 2025 (till 23:00 hrs)

  • Last date for online fee payment: 22nd July 2025 (23:00 hrs)

  • Correction window: 1st to 2nd August 2025

  • Paper-I (CBT): 27th to 31st October 2025

  • Paper-II (CBT): January-February 2026

This recruitment is for Group ‘B’ (Non-Gazetted), Non-Ministerial posts in Level-6 (₹35400-112400/-) of the 7th CPC pay matrix.

🎓 Educational Qualification (as on 01.01.2026)

Post / Dept. Qualification
JE (Civil) Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering (some posts require 2 years’ experience with Diploma)
JE (Electrical) / JE (Mechanical) Degree or Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical / Automobile Engg. (some posts require 2 years’ experience with Diploma)

⚠ Note:

  • Engineering degrees via distance mode (like IGNOU) after 2009-10 generally not valid, except as per specific SC directions.

  • Final year students must have results declared before 01.01.2026.


🕒 Age Limit (as on 01.01.2026)

Most posts Up to 30 years
CPWD & few others Up to 32 years

Age relaxation:

  • SC/ST: 5 years

  • OBC: 3 years

  • PwBD: 10-15 years

  • ESM: 3 years after deduction of military service.

📗 Paper-I (CBT)

Part-A: Civil OR Part-B: Electrical OR Part-C: Mechanical 100 / 100 2 hours

📝 Negative marking: 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.


📘 Paper-II (CBT)

➡ General Intelligence & Reasoning

Analogies, similarities, differences, problem-solving, spatial visualization, etc.

➡ General Awareness

India & neighbours, current affairs, history, culture, geography, polity, economics, general science.

➡ Engineering

  • Civil: Building Materials, RCC, Steel Structures, Surveying, Soil Mechanics, Hydraulics, Irrigation, Transportation, Environment.

  • Mechanical: Thermodynamics, IC Engines, Fluid Mechanics, Production, Theory of Machines.

  • Electrical: Circuit Theory, Electrical Machines, Measurements, Power Systems, Utilization.


💻 How to Apply

  • Register through One-Time Registration (OTR) on ssc.gov.in.

  • Fill application form online & upload real-time photo + signature.

  • Application Fee: ₹100 (except for SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen/Women).


📝 Correction Window

  • Modify application twice between 1st to 2nd August 2025.

  • Correction charges: ₹200 for first correction, ₹500 for second.
